Notable Cases
Saraswati v The Queen (1991) HCA 21
Greg Walsh represented the successful appellant before the High Court of Australia. The Court held that the Crown could not prefer a charge to circumvent a statutory time limitation — a landmark ruling on prosecutorial conduct.
Alice Springs Dragway Class Action (2017)
Settlement of $3.4 million in the Federal Court for spectators seriously injured at an inland dragway event, reframing the claim under the Australian Consumer Law rather than the restrictive Motor Accidents Compensation Act (NT).
Turia Pitt v RacingThePlanet
Acting for ultramarathon runner Turia Pitt, who suffered severe burns during a wildfire in the Kimberley. The matter resolved on confidential multi-million-dollar terms satisfactory to the client.
R v Crawford — Stay of Indictment (2018)
Successfully obtained a permanent stay of indictment for an 86-year-old client in a vegetative state, arguing that it would be "out of accord with common humanity" to allow the trial to proceed.
